From Shop Floors to Skylines: A Week in the Trades

Building the Future, One Stop at a Time

This week, my boots hit the ground in Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina. Next week? I'm headed to Michigan, Pennsylvania, and, yes, back to Florida.

This isn’t just travel for travel’s sake. It’s about continuing to meet the doers, builders, leaders, and learners who are shaping the future of the trades, and doing it with grit and pride.

Spotlight on: Revolution Workshop – Chicago, IL

Revolution Workshop in Garfield Park, where they’re creating real, tangible opportunities for people in the trades. Seeing the commitment to hands-on training, skill-building, and empowerment in action is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

✈️ Road Views: A few glimpses from this week’s travel—buildings, people, and places that reflect the evolving face of our blue-collar economy:

Florida high-rise sites – tangible growth, complex operations, and lots of glass.

Birmingham, AL – proud heritage, strong communities, and a great food!

“Choose Your Hard” – A Message That Stuck with Me

To close out the week, I’ll leave you with something powerful from Brad Holmes, GM of the Detroit Lions and a fellow Enterprise Rent-A-Car alum.

Brad delivered this message to the Lions' locker room with a mix of passion, perspective, and purpose. And if you’ve ever sold rental car insurance, you’ll understand the hustle behind that statement—because if you can do that, you can sell anything.

Grateful for the journey. Inspired by the people. Motivated to do more.

Let’s keep building.

Best,
